Come join instructor David Erichsen in one of the most mysterious and unique places in the state of Texas. Caddo Lake offers endless cypress tree forests that during the fall season, glow a vibrant orange, red and yellow, making you question where in the world you are. Not only are the cypress trees stunning, they are often filled with a variety of wildlife from birds, alligators and more. This workshop is timed for what is traditionally the best time for the changing of the leaves, but please remember that this is nature at work, so we will take advantage of whatever colors she presents us with! During this workshop, we will venture out for both sunrise and evening shoots each day via boat, following the light and in search of the perfect fall colors. We will have access to some of the more remote locations on the lake, with the cypress trees dressed in beautiful Spanish moss and colorful leaves ranging from green to yellow to orange and red. If you’ve never experienced the swamp in the fall, now’s your chance to see it at it’s prime!
What You Will Learn:
How to create compelling landscape compositions.
How to use your camera to its fullest capabilities.
Creating panoramas.
An understanding for light and how to take advantage of it in all conditions.
How to pick your jaw up off the floor.
What You Will Need:
A DSLR or mirrorless camera body with a mid-zoom and telephoto lens.
A circular polarizing filter for your lenses.
A sturdy tripod which may or may not be used.
Multiple batteries.
A desire to learn, have fun, be flexible, and explore nature!

Photography knowledge, 24 hours a day during the entire workshop.
Pontoon boat for exploring with Caddo Lake guide.
Lodging at a private home with shared bedrooms.

Where are we staying?
We will basing out of a wonderful AirBNB home just minutes from our boat dock in Uncertain, Texas!
Getting to Uncertain:
Uncertain is about a two-and-a-half hour drive from Dallas, Texas or about an hour drive from Shreveport, Louisiana. You can choose to fly into either DFW Airport or Shreveport, whichever accommodates you better.
When does the workshop start and wrap?
The workshop will begin with our meet and greet at 2PM on the first tour day and wrap at around 10:00AM on the last tour day.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit in a boat and take in awesome scenery.

Landscape and nature photographer David Erichsen believes that the beauty that exists naturally in our world is more breathtaking than anything we can possibly dream of. “Trying to capture it is what drew me into landscape photography. I primarily chase sensationalist scenes ranging from the northern lights glowing over rugged peaks within the Arctic circle to volcanic eruptions high in the Guatemalan forests to tornadic supercells whipping through the northern plains of the US. No photo can fully convey what it feels like to witness these magnificent events, but the pursuit of capturing it is why I shoot.” More about David can be found here.
